Palm Beach hears 'Voices'
Brody picks up Performer of the Year award

Filipino helmer Gil M. Portes and his foreign-lingo pic "Small Voices" swept the 8th annual Palm Beach Intl. Film Festival, which wrapped Thursday, nabbing nods for feature, director, and screenplay.
Performer of the Year recipient Adrien Brody visited the week-long competish to introduce an unspooling of "The Pianist." And Lifetime Achievement Award winner Robert Evans was also on hand to introduce his biopic, "The Kid Stays in the Picture."
Dedicated to improving film and TV educational programs for high schools, community colleges, and universities in Palm Beach County, the fest unspooled 90 films and raised $100,000.
Kudos, chosen by three representatives from journalism, film, and scripting backgrounds, went to "The Last Reunion: A Gathering of Heroes," in the documentary category, "Today You Are a Fountain Pen" for short film, Jonathan Bennett for actor in "Season of Youth" and Lynn Redgrave for actress in "The Annihilation of Fish." Suzanne DeLaurentiis was feted with the Founder's Award. Special jury prize went to "Klezmer of Fish Street."
Audience awards went to "Bachelorman" for feature film, "Killing Pedro Rivera" in the short competish and "Broadway: The Golden Age, by the Legends Who Were There" in the docu race.
